Matthew Winters is a Colorado based luxury jewelry and accessories designer. Each piece is thoughtfully designed and handcrafted utilizing natural materials found in the Rocky Mountain West.
Worn Over Time
Our first capsule offering, Worn Over Time, is inspired by natural elements with an emphasis on versatility and simplicity. These four pieces, made of silver, can be worn daily or for special occasions and will be resilient to years of wear and the passing of time.
Stella Exclusive was designed around a simple concept, minimal surfaces that maximize reflected light. While a star is not round, the light we see is so much larger than the star itself, and when the light enters our eyes, we often perceive it to be four-pronged. As the very first piece of the brand, this piece has been our guiding light and lays the groundwork for the core artistic direction of the brand moving forward.
Colorado native and based designer, Matthew grew up with a deep felt connection to the Rocky Mountains and the surrounding natural landscape.
After a sold out jewelry show his senior year at Denver School of the Arts, Matthew temporarily set his passions for jewelry and design aside to row for Georgetown University. In his Junior year, he received the Misty Dailey scholarship to design a jewelry collection inspired by the Australian landscape. Designing this collection conjured a wave of creativity that continued after his graduation. Over the next few years, he apprenticed for jewelry designers and was awarded a scholarship for a jewelry design program in Southern California. While working for a local gem dealer and master goldsmith, Matthew developed a keen interest in the many precious and semi-precious stones native to the American West. Shortly after, he began the Matthew Winters brand, a luxury design label where design intention, material choice, and ethical practices combine to embody the spirit of the Rocky Mountains.
ETHICS AND SUSTAINABILITY
All of our jewelry pieces are created using recycled metals, primarily 18k yellow gold and sterling silver. We use conflict-free stones in all of our creations.
